Standon Charities is able to make grants to help people in 'need, hardship or distress' and live in the area of benefit. Grants might typically be for:

  • Help for a child to go on a school trip which otherwise would be unaffordable
  • Help with a grant to provide extra equipment needed for a disabled person
  • Help with the cost of travel to hospital
  • Help after an operation with the cost of a home help
  • This list is only of examples - if you would like to be considered for a grant, contact the Clerk for a chat
  • Typical grants are in the range £25 - £500

Area of Benefit

Standon Charities Area of Benefit is The Ancient Parish of Standon:

Trustees accept the existing Parish of Standon plus Thundridge Parish (North of the River Rib) as being the area of benefit.

Applicants for almshouses will be accepted as 'of limited means' if their only form of income is state benefits or they have limited income.
